Clown, Juggler, & Father Bryan "Dangerous" Fulton
Thank you so much for downloading this episode of So What Do You Really Do? The podcast where I speak to artists and entertainers about their day jobs and on the podcast is former circus clown, current comedy juggler, and father Bryan Fulton, known on stage as Bryan Dangerous.
I went to a magnet high school dedicated to the arts; Visual art, Dance, Music, Chorus, and Theatre. The year I started, 1996, was the first year of the program. I went there because I lived across the street. I wanted to be in the theatre program. I participated but was never part of the magnet program. Everything I am and what I've done for the past 20+ years is because of my time in the theatre at Patapsco High School and Center for the Arts.
Someone else who wanted to be in the program, but couldn't, and is where he is today because of the theatre program and our teacher Ms. Pow, is my guest today Bryan Fulton. Had our theatre literally never given him the brochure for Clown College (yes, it's a real thing), his life would be drastically different. Bryan and I go over how he got into Clow College, what life was like being part of a traveling circus, how he transitioned into being a solo performer without the power of one of the largest entertainment companies behind him, and the anxiety associated with taking off the facepaint and facing the crowd as you and no longer a clown.
This episode is brought to you by Word of the Day with Comedians, a new short-form audio and video podcast available on YouTube, iTunes, & Spotify. It’s the funniest way to expand your vocabulary.
