I don't know how I totally forgot to tell you all the short film I was helping with, Deleting is finally done and out. You can watch it (and give it a thumbs up) on YouTube:This was a real fun project to work on, and Vinnie Pagano did a great job with writing, directing, and editing it. I'm really impressed with how well everyone did. So please, give it a watch, and if you enjoyed too, share it with a friend.I haven't been here posting much because all my writing energy, what little I have, goes to the articles I've been writing for DigBoston. My latest one actually became the front page feature for this week, which is really exciting (especially the bump in pay).If you want to just read the feature, which is about teachers who are also comedians, click here. To read the full paper, you'll have to find a print copy (I have a few, don't worry), and to read my previous articles click here. I've really been enjoying writing these articles. Mostly are simple Q+A's, like the next one I have coming out with Des Bishop, regardless it does make me feel so productive. I need to keep doing things that give me that feeling.Speaking of being productive, the new podcast studio is almost done. Now I just have to get in the habit of scheduling guests. That in itself is going to be difficult time-wise, because I'm going to be putting a lot of effort into getting more acting gigs. Mostly because they pay, and I need the money. (but they only pay if get the roles, so fingers crossed on that) I'm getting pretty friendly with the people over at Boston Casting, so I think between that and a lot of work on marketing myself properly and even more luck, some things might just work out for me. And whatever free time I have that isn't spent writing, podcasting, or working on acting will be dedicated to stand up comedy. I'm expecting a busy 2018, let's hope it's a good busy. Oh, and I created an IMDB page because I really wanted to avoid doing any real work at my job today.Oh, and check out Vinnie's other short film I helped with. It's a horror flick at http://garagefirefilms.comFunny story about that name: The opening scene to Deleting, where Terence, Ryan, Will, and Will are in the car watching a video; when we were filming that in Vinnie's garage, we're lighting it, and getting everything ready. Just as we're all set up, and Vin calls action, one of the guys in the backseat (I forget who) asks, "Is something burning?"Just then we look out to see the light behind the car had caught fire. Vinnie had put wax paper over it to defuse the light, it heated up and caught fire. So flames are flaring up towards the ceiling of his garage, everyone is kinda freaking out a bit, I calmly walk up to the light, knock off the wax paper, and just as I'm about to stomp it out, I tell Vinnie to unplug the light, then I pure a water bottle out over it. "FIRE'S OUT EVERYONE!" He then decided, secretly of course, to name his production company for making these short films Garage Fire Films, which couldn't be any more perfect. And the last link for today, I did a quick stop-in, and ramble with Ryan Chani and Corey Saunders over at Dirty Water Late Night the other week. Fast forward to 59-minutes in to see Chani and I try not to strangle each other on-air. And to see Corey blush... a lot. Finally, here's the real thing. There was a short period of time last year where you may have noticed I was blogging like CRAZY! Alright, 3 posts in 2 months may not seem crazy to you, but it's a lot considering how jampacked my schedule is, and not being a writer (don't tell my editor at DigBoston that). Also, the articles were reviews about music. The reason I wrote these articles was because last fall I was in the running to be the new afternoon jock on Boston's ALT 92.9 (how close I was to actually getting the job, I don't really know, but I had meetings). One of the things they wanted to see from me, in addition to being good on-air, was that I could write. They wanted to hire someone who could also produce interesting and engaging blog posts. Those articles, and some of my older ones, were my attempts to prove I could. I don't know if it helped, honestly. I tried to make them about music, funny, shareable, and most importantly, original. Which the radio industry hates nowadays, or so I believe. Obviously, I didn't get the job, no one did (GOOD, BECAUSE IF I CAN'T HAVE NO ONE CAN!), because they said they were still waiting for the "perfect candidate". Hi, that's me! Apparently not. Anyway, onward I go. Won't be my last opportunity at a full-time entertainment/media job (I mean, besides the boring one I have now), and probably won't be the last one I get turned for either. Shame, I really wanted that job. It just wasn't in the cards for me this time. So, if any of you were wondering what was up with that a while back, that's why. Thanks for taking the time to read this and for watching the videos if you did.
