Why I Don't Want A Superman/Batman Movie.

ImageI think Warner Bros. is going about this, for lack of a better term, DC Cinematic Universe (here out referred to as DCCU) all wrong. Yes Superman/Batman as a sequel to Man of Steel is going to make eighty-five-hundred-billion-trillion dollars in the box office. No one is not going to go see both Superman and Batman or Batman and Superman in a movie together.Releasing a solo Flash movie is pretty freaking weak if you ask me. And we're still four years away from a Justice League movie? The fact they through this half-ass surprise of a plan out to the public doesn't mean they have a road map like Marvel does. Doing a Flash movie is, in my opinion a reaction to Marvels' Quicksilver and Pietro announcements. "HEY LOOK! WE'VE GOT OUR OWN FAST GUY TOO!" Which Marvel/Fox doing the Quicksilver/Pieter works in their favor. Anyone unfamiliar with that character is just going to call him "The Flash" anyway.Warner Bros. and Bruce Timm, go public with you're scraping your plans for Superman/Batman, Flash, and Justice League and here is your new road map. And you better tell David S. Goyer and Zack Snyder to listen up too. Man of Steel 2: Someone is saving people from danger and stopping bad guys. Someone really fast that no one can see, and maybe he makes a mistake or two along the way. Everyone assumes it's Superman, where he replies to the public; "Uh.. wasn't me." that's when The Flash comes on the scene and is all like "Hey Sups! What sup? I'm the fastest man on the planet, wanna race?" And Superman the hobo is like "Whatever dude. Yeah I guess." </emo brooding voice> While they're racing the word, or just Metropolis and Central City, whatever is in peril from none other than, (cue dramatic music), Lex Luther. And Superman and The Flash aka Barry Allen, have to team up to stop him. Yes, the Man of Steel movie introduces both Lex Luther and The Flash to the DCCU. What's next?Well since they want to release another movie to hype Justice League how about, oh I don't know, A WONDER WOMAN MOVIE?! You're hardcore comic fans will go see it, chicks are going to see it, everyone is going to see it, because we've been waiting for it. Warner Bros. stop avoiding Wonder Woman like a crazy ex-girlfriend. You already loss Joss Whedon and his WW script to Marvel. And you wan to know why? Because they let Joss make the movies he wanted to make. Trust goes a long way. So find someone who can write a really killer, relevant Wonder Woman script. I honestly have no idea what man could write a better heroine script than Joss Whedon, so I'm going to through my hate in the ring for Lauren Montgomery. She's comic book artist, she's already directed and produced two DC heroine based movies. She directed the Wonder Woman animated feature and produced Superman/Batman: Apocalypse. Also she's a lady, so I'm pretty sure she knows how to do it right; or at the very least she can consult the scripting/story process. But I really have no idea who, so if you have an idea on who could do a good Wonder Woman script by all means leave a comment on who you would like. Now we have two Superman movies in which we have introduced Superman, his arch enemy, The Flash, and we've introduced Wonder Woman. What about a Justice League movie? Well that's the next step. One year later you release The Justice League, where they meet Jon Jones aka Martian Man Hunter. They find out about some the Earth is in danger of being taken over by an alien race blah blah blah and Jon Jones came here to warn us about it! What a swell guy that Martian is. And maybe they have to team up to save Jon Jones from being imprisoned in a government facility because they're hiding the existence of ... more aliens(?) Meanwhile Superman, Wonder Woman, and Flash team up to stop this alien attack, learn that Jon Jones has the answer on how to defeat them, go to rescue him and who pops in to help out? None other than <heroic horn music> Batman!!!We don't need another Batman origin story. Bring Joseph Gordon Levitt's character in as Batman, or don't. Make it Bruce Wayne, in fact don't even reveal the identity of Batman. That's fine. Save it for the Justice League sequel. Or Man of Steel 3. Have Clark hunt down Batman to find out who he really is whilst Batman is doing the same to him. The hard part about the Justice League movie is you don't want the members to just jump right in and be buddy, buddy as a team while also making them have petty fights with each other on who is better. The Avengers did that already. It worked and I don't want to see Jimmy Olsen killed to make them snap together as a team. DON'T DO IT WARNER BROS!Now you have your Justice League saving the world. Does this fiendish plot to destroy the Earth by aliens involve Lex Luther or Brainiac? Maybe. Sure, why not? There is your idea and road map for the next four years of the DCCU. Regardless of what they do the box office will explode with moneys on top of moneys, so putting together a decent series of movies that the public and core audience want to see is basically irrelevant. This is just one fan's opinion on what I think is the better idea. If you agree, disagree, or have opinions of your own, even if you like the Man of Steel/Dark Knight sequel idea, leave them all in the comments. And look Warner Bros. and DC if you decide to go with my idea, that's fine. Please do. These are the movies that I want to see and I think other people want to as well. I'm not going to go after you for a huge cut of the revenue. A small Stan Lee-esc cameo in one of the movies would be nice. Although technically you have to already be a celebrity for it to be a cameo, but that's just semantics. Or if you insist on paying me I'll take the gross of one day's opening totals. That's not too much to ask for, right?
